It all started about 25 years ago, with a fascination for electronic music and analog, virtual-analog, and digital sound generation.

A background in audio engineering followed, along with computer science courses at the University of Vienna and numerous DIY projects with analog modules. At the end of my audio engineering studies, I did a thesis on virtual-analog sound synthesis, based primarily on the Waldorf MicroQ and Microwave XT — the two synths that inspired BGOne's GUI design.

What drives me hasn't changed since: music theory, DSP, sound synthesis, and dance music.

BGOne became an effects unit almost by accident. It was originally planned as a DSP-based sound generator, but the possibilities of a rhythm-based effect with deep sound-shaping potential pulled me in a different direction — so I changed course.
